Help wanted to create an OpenGL blitter

I'm asking for someone who can create an OpenGL based 2D blitter for BennuGD that can co-exist with the current software-based one.


If you know someone with C coding skills who'd like to step up for the job and help the bennugd project, please address them to me. It doesn't mind if that person doesn't yet know how BennuGD works: I can help with that and Im sure that SplinterGU will help where I cannot.
Please note that this is not an official effort but one started by me, so the code would -at first, at least- only land in my code repos.

Pixel is suggesting we organize a fundraise to get money and set a "bounty" for this. What do you think about it?

I have an experimental implementation of this from 3 years ago. I was looking for it a while ago, but can't find it. I can't promise anything, but I'll try to make time to find it and get it in shape.

Thanks for the offer. That would be awesome!
In the Spanish subforum I suggested it might be a good idea to try to adapt the blitter from cocos2d-x (which is c++). I'm not really familiar with it but from what I can see it shares some common ideas with BennuGD and it looks like it already has blitters based on OpenGL ES and OpenGL:
