Helpdesk / Visual Studio 2008 as IDE for Bennu
« en: Diciembre 30, 2008, 06:51:45 am »
Can I use Visual Studio 2008 Professional as an IDE for Bennu?

I just want to be able to make 'regions' like in Visual Studio.
Regions are sections that you can define your code in between and when you do,
a + and - sign appear next to it, so you can either collapse, or expand that particular code.
This results in a lot more readability =D and excluding the things
you don't need to read at the moment.

[-]# region "Private fields"
           string greeting;
           int i;

Your code might then look like this:

  • #region "Main Process"
  • #region "Ship"
  • #region "Enemies"

Then you will have to call summonBorder(). =O

I would like to address you on your signature. =P
Is that meant as a joke or it was meant on an old avatar/IE version?
Because I don't know.
I figured I'd try it out and find out if your avatar really has borders in IE.

To my surprise it doesn't appear to have grey borders in my PC setup.

Helpdesk / Re: ConTEXT launches incorrect executable
« en: Diciembre 26, 2008, 01:28:22 pm »
I don't understand why that code was put online if it does not execute.

Also, it appears get_timer() gets the amount of milliseconds since 0:00:00 (since the day began),
not time the program has been running in milliseconds. , as stated here (this is directed to Sandman).

(get_timer()/1000)/3600 = hours passed in current day.

Many thanks for your input on that, Sandman.

Why does example a run and example b not?
I don't know why but it only seems to work when I exclude the timer..

I have uninstalled ConTEXT, reinstalled it, ran the fixbennu.reg.
Now it compiled, but nothing happens when I run the interpreter:
As you can see here.

I want to be able to use ConTEXT.

Now it works.
But why doesn't it launch my Bennu program in a new Fenix window?
Why does it launch it in the output window of ConTEXT?

Didn't work..
Any other suggestions?

« en: Diciembre 26, 2008, 06:09:40 am »

I have followed and applied the instructions as described in here.
In ConTEXT, I have done the following steps:
1. File > Save As > Fenix (.prg)
2. F10 (bgdc)
3. F11 (bgdi)

Now, it launches the context executable instead of bgdi, like I configured. Why is this?

Yeah I know that by agreeing to the forum rules that I shouldn't be rude.
I just got very stressed.

Notice that I changed my original post into a polite version. ;P
However I can't change the topic's header.
You are welcome to change it.

Here's one remark, this code is missing 4 imports:

Also, I installed the latest ConTEXT version and applied the fixbennu.reg right after I installed it,
but it doesn't work.
There is no 'compile' command, and all the 'execute' shortcut commands are empty.
There is no 'Bennu' in the menu's, there is only FoxPro.

Are there some instructions on how to set up execute keys in Bennu so that you can compile with the click of
1 single menu option or the combination of two keys? (like you did with Fenix, Sandman)

Sorry for the large avatar.
I didn't know it wouldn't downscale it.
I didn't see it because my firewall blocked my avatar.
So I will change it now. =D

Also this board should've had security on that. =P

Cita de: Sandman
no Spanish errors
Wait a minute.. I got a Spanish error still.. =P. Something in the likes of:
"la version no es una compatibele version DCB 7 o no es balbalba.."

Also, is Bennu comparable in syntax to Fenix or is it exactly the same as Fenix?
I'm still confused about the differences.
Perhaps I should read up on it. =P

I think Bennu/Fenix is very poorly documented.
I do not want to be stuck in a programming language and only have a handful of people
to my disposal to help me. =/
I want a serious development, like Microsoft. I want people all over the world to support.
What I mean is, I want at least a complete langspec/full language doc on Bennu.
Bennu supports the same code as Fenix as it is just an extension of it, no?

I do not like the default font size for posting. It is too big to my liking.
I want to be able to have a template of in which layout I will post (my own pre-defined personal BBcode which will surround my text).
It is not practical to have to retype my BBcode tags every time I want to post.
