Title: Linux installer need some tweaking
Post by: EugeneP on October 29, 2010, 11:06:17 AM
I think Linux Bennu installer need some tweaking:
1) Installer should have "Unpack without install" option.
2) Installer should print help by default, but do install only by user request.

Simply speaking: Please add --unpack and --install options :)

1) no, unpack, don't is the idea.
2) the script is installer itself, is the idea.

Why?
User cannot install it without root access anyway, so he has to start terminal and deal with installer's output.

bennugd package is only for developer users, if any developer need release any product and without root access for final user, he need include runtime in your product release.

you can use option "Search" in forum and you'll found how extract the original tgz from installer package.

thanks for the suggest.

Well, Ok. I can extract original tgz, I just think  it's kind of inconvenient.
